DPT Crypto Card Review 2026
DPT's Crypto Card is a custodial USDC/USDT card with free USD spending, a 0–2% FX band and a 2% ATM fee, funded by a one-off $10 virtual or $50 physical application fee.
A clearly priced stablecoin card that suits someone who spends mostly in USD and rarely touches an ATM. The 0–2% FX band is published as a range rather than a rate, and the $750 daily ATM ceiling makes it a poor primary card for cash-heavy travel.
CARDNODE
✓ Reasons to get it
- USD purchases cost nothing, and there is no annual, monthly or inactivity fee
- Fee schedule is published in full and without a signup wall, including the awkward numbers
- No default spending cap and no balance ceiling; limits are set by the user in-app
- Virtual card issues immediately and works in Apple Pay and Google Pay
✕ Things to watch
- The FX fee is disclosed as a 0–2% range, so a traveller cannot price a non-USD purchase in advance
- ATM access is tightly capped: $250 per withdrawal, 3 attempts per 24 hours, $750 per day, at 2% plus surcharges
- Custodial, funds sit with BitGo, are not bank deposits, and carry no deposit-insurance protection
- No cashback; the only offsetting return is an opt-in DeFi vault that carries smart-contract risk
Our full review
The DPT Visa card is the entry tier of DPT Pay's stablecoin card programme. You fund a DPT account with USDC or USDT on Ethereum, Polygon, Tron or Solana, and card spending draws directly from that balance at Visa merchants, there is no separate top-up step. We worked through DPT's own published fee schedule line by line rather than its marketing page, and priced it against an ordinary monthly spending pattern. What it actually costs
Entry is a one-time application fee: $10 for a virtual card, $50 for a physical one. After that there is no annual fee, no monthly maintenance and no inactivity fee, and a physical replacement is $10. USD purchases are free. Non-USD purchases carry a 0% – 2% FX fee, stated as depending on the currency and channel, a range, not a rate, which is the least useful number in the schedule. ATM withdrawals cost 2%, and DPT discloses that an additional 0% – 1.75% FX surcharge plus the operator's own fee may sit on top.
Run that against $2,000 a month with 30% of it in a foreign currency: at the top of the FX band that is $12, at the bottom it is nothing. Two $200 ATM withdrawals cost $8 before surcharges. For a spender who stays in USD and uses contactless rather than cash, the ongoing cost is close to zero and the $50 physical card is the main outlay. For someone abroad drawing cash, the 2% plus surcharge plus the $750 daily ceiling is the binding constraint.
Who holds the money
This is a custodial product. Deposited stablecoins are held by BitGo, a regulated custodian, segregated from DPT's operating funds. DPT (HK) Limited is a fintech operating under a Hong Kong TCSP licence, not a bank, and the balance is not covered by any deposit-protection scheme. The card itself is issued by U.S. Bank under licence from Visa. KYC is mandatory before you can apply for a card. The practical reading: this is a spending float, not a place to park savings.
Living with it
The virtual card issues immediately after verification and goes straight into Apple Pay or Google Pay; the physical card ships in 7–14 business days and is what you need for chip-and-PIN and non-NFC ATMs. There is no default daily spending cap, you set your own in the app, and no balance limit. There is no cashback programme. Instead DPT offers an opt-in DeFi yield that routes the stablecoin balance through Gauntlet's vault across Aave and Morpho while keeping it spendable. That is a yield product with smart-contract exposure, not a rewards rate, and should be judged as such.

How to get the DPT Crypto Card
- 1Create and verify the account
Download the DPT Pay app from the App Store or Google Play (an Android APK is offered directly for regions without Play), register with your email, and complete KYC with a government ID and a live selfie. Card application is locked until verification passes.
- 2Deposit USDC or USDT
Send stablecoins on Ethereum, Polygon, Tron or Solana. Deposits are free on DPT's side, but you pay the network fee, Tron and Solana are the cheap routes. Once confirmed, the balance is immediately spendable; there is no separate card top-up.
- 3Apply for the card and add it to a wallet
Choose virtual ($10, issued immediately) or physical ($50, 7–14 business days). Add the card to Apple Pay or Google Pay, then set your own daily and per-transaction spending limits in Card settings, since there is no cap by default.
